GROUP SWIM LESSONS
(September-May)


$46 for 8 classes
4 week session
2 days per week
30 minute classes


FACILITY GUIDELINES:
Children under 6 years old
 MUST have an adult 16+ years in the water during the entire lesson, regardless of level.

No refunds will be given after the last day of registration for those needing to unenroll. Failure to unenroll before the registration period has ended will not qualify for a refund regardless of circumstances. 
 
Please plan accordingly as there is limited space in each lesson.

Preschool Lessons
(Ages 4-5)

30 minute classes for ages 4 to 5 years.

2-4 students per class. 

Parents are required to accompany children during their lesson.

  • Preschool A: In Preschool Aquatics Level A, children gain comfort in the water and are introduced to basic skills (kicks and floats) with instructor support.

  • Preschool B: The Preschool B class sets up the young swimmers to perform the basic skills independently.

  • Preschool C: This level builds on the basics to combine skills. Children will begin performing glides, glides with kicks, and be introduced to alternating arms.

  • Preschool D: The final Preschool class prepares children for the Learn to Swim levels. They practice the combined skills appropriate for their age. 

Parent and Child
(6 month-
3 years)

Each 30 minute class is designed for parent and child interaction to develop comfort in the water. Children ages 6 months - 3 years will benefit from the use of games and songs to learn basic skills in the water. With parents' support, children will begin learning skills such as kicks and floats, jumping from the edge, getting comfortable underwater, and more.  Note: children who are not yet potty-trained need to wear a swim diaper and swim suit while in the water.

Private Swim Lessons
Learn to Swim
(ages 6+)

Private Lessons are offered at our facility in 8 lesson sessions. The lessons are available for registration on the same timeline as group lessons. Sign-ups may be done with the front desk. You may register for multiple months of private lessons at once. Please do not sign up for group lessons until your instructor has given a current level estimate. Please read our

PRIVATE LESSON POLICY

Teen and Adult Swim Lesson

Lessons for teens and adults with varying levels of ability, ages 13 and up. Instructors work with each student to set individual goals. This class is appropriate for beginning swimmers or those looking to refine their stokes. This class is 45 minutes long.

Our instructor has 25+ years of experience teaching all levels and ages, from babies to 85 years, including competitive swimming and coaching. 

Each 30 minute classes for children ages 6 to 12 years. 2-6 students per class.

  • Learn to Swim 1: A beginner swim class for youth to gain comfort in the water. Swimmers will learn floats and kicks, beginning with instructor support.

  • Learn to Swim 2: Students in this level are comfortable in the water, and will start positioning for swim strokes. Glides, with and without kicks, will be practiced and alternating arms will be incorporated. This will provide introduction to the combined skills. 

  • Learn to Swim 3: Level 3 students will build on their front and back stroke distance. Elementary backstroke will be introduced, and swimmers will spend time in the deep water working on treading water and diving.

  • Learn to Swim 4: Swimmers in Level 4 will be introduced to breaststroke–building endurance and improving their front and back skills. They will start working on butterfly kick and open turns.

  • Learn to Swim 5: Students at this level will work on proficiency in front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke. Flip turns will be introduced.

  • Learn to Swim 6: Level 6 Introduces swimmers to the butterfly stroke, as well as opportunity to build endurance in front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke. Students at this level are shown the basics of competition swimming. 

Lifeguard
&
Jr. Lifeguard Classes
Dive Class
(must pass LS3 or pass dive tank test)

Lifeguard

 

This class covers water rescues, CPR, AED, & First Aid training, and team emergency management. All certifications are under StarGuard. Shore Aquatic Center frequently hires new Lifeguards from the classes. This course is now only $75 and includes the online class and e-book.

Jr. Lifeguard

 

For youth 11 - 15 years of age - try our Junior Lifeguard Class!  The class teaches first aid, lifesaving skills, and how to assist in real emergencies. $75 to register, includes t-shirt and whistle!

This class is offered at this time.

 

An introduction to fundamental Springboard Diving Skills. Swimmers must have completed Learn to Swim 3 or higher. Proficiency in deep water is required. If you or your child is in need of the swim test, please contact swen@sacpa.org.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

  • All classes are 30 minutes long unless otherwise noted.

  • Classes in the summer will have a 15 minute break in between, please use this time to speak with your instructor.

  • Instructors give level recommendations at the end of each session. These recommendations are entered onto your account. You can ask your child's instructor about level recommendations or ask the front desk to access your account to view instructor notes.

  • All classes and times are subject to change due to instructor availability, please check with pool office for complete schedule.

  • Two students must be registered to run a class. In cases where only one student is registered parents can opt to transfer to another class, get a credit on their account, request a refund, or pay for the second student.

  • Children learn better in the appropriate level. Swim tests are available for proper lesson placement, please email Aquatics Coordinator to schedule an appointment for placement testing or recommendation on your child's level. 

  • Don’t miss out on all the exciting opportunities at the Shore Aquatic Center! Please note that classes fill up quickly and spots are limited. Registration is done on a first-come-first-served basis by in-person enrollment or calling our front desk. Payment is due at the time of registration.

  • Number slips will be handed out starting at 9am the day of registration, as long as you are back here by 10am (the time registration opens), we will call numbers in order. If you are not here when your number is being called, then it will be added to the back of the call out list to be called after all the others.

 

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Refunds are subject to management approval. If requested on the last day of registration, which will be prior to the first day of classes, a full refund will likely be given. Registration dates are posted on our Swim Lessons page. Parents may also opt to have a credit placed on the student’s pool account. Please email swen@sacpa.org for a Refund Request.

 

Waitlist Registration Policy

If a class becomes full, the students name will automatically be placed on a waiting list. If a space in the class opens, we will notify you by telephone or email on your account.
