Preschool Aquatics
(Ages 4-5)
Parent and Child
(6 month-
3 years)

Preschool Aquatics (Ages 4-5) (PS)

30 minute classes for ages 4 to 5 years. 2-6 students per class.

  • Preschool 1: In Preschool Aquatics Level 1, children gain comfort in the water and are introduced to basic skills (kicks and floats) with instructor support.

  • Preschool 2: The Preschool 2 class sets up the young swimmers to perform the basic skills independently.

  • Preschool 3: This level builds on the basics to combine skills. Children will begin performing glides, glides with kicks, and be introduced to alternating arms.

  • Preschool 4: The final Preschool class prepares children for the Learn to Swim levels. They practice the combined skills appropriate for their age.

Terrified of Water

Each 30 minute class is designed for parent and child interaction to develop comfort in the water. Children ages 3 months - 3 years will benefit from the use of games and songs to learn basic skills in the water. With parents' support, children will begin learning skills such as kicks and floats, jumping from the edge, gaining comfort underwater, and more.  Note: children who are not yet potty-trained need to wear a swim diaper and swim suit while in the water.

Learn to Swim
(ages 6+)

If there's a will, there's a wave! Terrified of Water is a class for older beginning swimmers who have little to no experience in the water. Participants learn to navigate the pool confidently at their own pace. This class is taught in the Wellness pool, which provides warmer, shallow water to practice in.

Teen and Adult Swim

Lessons for teens and adults with varying levels of ability. Instructors work with each student to set individual goals. This class is appropriate for beginning swimmers or those looking to refine their stokes. This class is 45 minutes long.

Our instructor has 25+ years of experience teaching all levels and ages, from babies to 85 years, including competitive swimming and coaching.

Each 30 minute classes for children ages 6 and older. 2-6 students per class.

  • Learn to Swim 1: A beginner swim class for youth to gain comfort in the water. Swimmers will learn floats and kicks, beginning with instructor support.

  • Learn to Swim 2: Students in this level are comfortable in the water, and will start positioning for swim strokes. Glides, with and without kicks, will be practiced and alternating arms will be incorporated. This will provide introduction to the combined skills.

  • Learn to Swim 3: Level 3 students will build on their front and back stroke distance. Elementary backstroke will be introduced, and swimmers will spend time in the deep water working on treading water and diving.

  • Learn to Swim 4: Swimmers in Level 4 will be introduced to breaststroke–building endurance and improving their front and back skills. They will start working on butterfly kick and open turns.

  • Learn to Swim 5: Students at this level will work on proficiency in front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke. Flip turns will be introduced.

  • Learn to Swim 6: Level 6 Introduces swimmers to the butterfly stroke, as well as opportunity to build endurance in front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke. Students at this level are shown the basics of competition swimming.
