Meet The Board

"Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA.  I served in the US Army, Infantry and spent 1968 in Vietnam, coming home as a First Lieutenant. Graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills, with a BA and MA in English literature, linguistics, and writing.  I have worked a variety jobs: cook; warehouse shipping clerk; on a pipeline gang and as a pipeline dispatcher for Union Oil; residential electrician; taught writing for Peninsula College extension; drove the bookmobile for NOLS; and sold real estate.  I built and remodeled houses as a general contractor. I enjoy reading, writing, and occasional stabs at golf.  And, somehow, I never seem to run out of projects.  I look forward to the post-pandemic era when I can travel to far-away places. I have been married for fifty+ years.  My wife and I bought our house in Port Angeles in 1976. I am happy my daughter and son-in-law live close by and that my favorite grand-daughter and her family also live here.  I have been swimming at our pool since the late seventies and have been on the advisory committee for the pool."

“I was born and raised here in Port Angeles, and learned to swim at the Shore Aquatic Center (back when it was known as the William Shore Memorial Pool).  I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Central Washington University, and was a small business owner in downtown Port Angeles for 15 years before being elected to the Port Angeles City Council in 2017 and then the Clallam County Board of Commissioners in 2022.

I enjoy playing piano for various community performances, hiking in our beautiful area, and swimming at the Shore Aquatic Center with my wife and two boys.”
